In a perfect world everyone would have a perfect earth… Now with WRICON they can!
The WRICON Earthing System is designed to allow the entire earthing system to be permanently positioned within the structure itself, protecting it from accidental damage, tampering, or unauthorised disconnection. Safe and effective earthing is a critical requirement of every electrical installation, and reinforced concrete foundations provide an ideal method for achieving a reliable and long-lasting earth connection.
The WRICON Earthing System delivers a permanent, dependable, and maintenance free earthing solution. At the centre of the system is the unique earthing terminal plate, which enables a straightforward and professional connection to the building reinforcement or foundation steel by any competent welder. Earthing directly to reinforcing steel is permitted under New Zealand Electrical Wiring Regulations and offers several significant advantages:
- Reinforcing steel within concrete foundations forms a robust and permanent earthing electrode
- The WRICON earth lead is securely cast into concrete, protecting it from accidental damage during excavation works and reducing the risk of theft
- Exothermically welded connections provide a permanent molecular bond that will not loosen or deteriorate over time like mechanical compression connections
- The tinned solid copper head stem, bronze terminal plate, and insulated earth lead help minimise galvanic corrosion while maintaining low resistance connections for the life of the installation
- Provides lower earth resistance than many conventional earthing methods and is less affected by seasonal ground condition changes
ALL GENUINE WRICON
Brass head plates have descriptions including cable size plus internal thread protection
Lugs have an information decal outlining important instructions for the installer
Terminal Plate Necks are made from electrical grade bronze that has been tinned

Special Notes
- Installer to notify the local supply authority for inspection of the welded termination to reinforcing steel before concrete is poured
- "BT" refers to a Bare Tail WRICON without a termination head plate
- WRICON systems can be manufactured to order in any required length
- Stainless steel termination plates are also available for marine and high corrosion environments
